From the scholars of Mesopotamia to the mountains of the Rif, Ouchene (أوشن) has maintained an unbroken lineage of administrative nobility, diplomatic mastery, and sovereign landholding for over a millennium.

Mesopotamian Origins

The Ouchene ancestors belonged to the Ahl al-Ilm, the People of Knowledge, serving as jurists and scholars in the Abbasid Caliphate.

Lords of the Barranco, Guardians of the Oriental Rif. A noble lineage rooted in Morocco. The 275-page archive was assembled and preserved by Hassan Ouchen (رحمه الله). It has since been digitized by Omar Ouchene and family members in Morocco and the Netherlands, with a full republication in written and filmed form forthcoming.
